In response to recent media inquiries regarding the complaint allegedly filed by UPACC before the Office of the Ombudsman, the Office of Mayor Maria Lourdes “Malu” P. Lacson issues the following clarifications:
1. Official Notice Pending: Mayor Lacson has not yet received a formal copy of the alleged complaint filed with the Office of the Ombudsman. Once an official copy is received, she will respond thoroughly and directly in detail at the proper time and through the appropriate legal forum.
2. Clarification on Divestment and Contracts: Mayor Lacson strongly refutes any allegations of conflict of interest. Mayor Lacson and her husband fully divested all their interests in Kingsmen Manpower Services in May 2022, prior to her assumption of office as Municipal Mayor. Furthermore, Kingsmen has no active operations and maintains no contract or manpower deployment with Chuanxing Steel.
3. Caution Against Misinformation: We caution parties and individuals against spreading unverified information and fake news that maliciously impute the name of Mayor Lacson in alleged criminal activities or supposed conflicts of interest.
Mayor Lacson remains steadfastly committed to transparency, good governance, and the rule of law, and will address all allegations through the proper legal mechanisms once officially served.
