THE SPECIAL Program for Employment of Students [SPES] under the Department of Labor and Employment [DOLE] through the Provincial Government of Tarlac awarded to 367 students their salaries for their services rendered from the different capitol department and municipal governments recently at the Bulwagan ng mga Governador.

The program was aimed to help poor but deserving students pursue their education by providing income through short-termed employment during school break.

Every beneficiary, received more than P9,000, in which 60-percent was financed by the provincial government of Tarlac while the remaining 40 percent was subsidized by DOLE.

All of the beneficiaries were employed for 20 days with a daily rate of P 453.68 and were deployed in different municipal government where they reside to minimize transportation cost and other expenses. While all Tarlac City residents were employed at the provincial government of Tarlac.

Governor Susan Yap, in her message said, the provincial government prepare students on the opportunities that national government will transfer some of its offices in New Clark City Tarlac.

“In the next few years, Tarlac will be different. You must be ready when these national offices transfer in Tarlac.” Yap said adding, “Carry all the burden in carrying our province to the next generation.”

Undersecretary Sherwin Rigor of the Department of Environment and Natural Resources advised students to take advantage of the government program being implemented by the province. “

Take advantage of the government programs of the province, you will surely benefit from these.” the Undersecretary said.

Beneficiaries came from Tarlac National High School, Saint Paul College of Tarlac, Capas National High School, Victoria National High School, Moncada National High School, Aquino Memorial High School in Concepcion Tarlac, Anao National High School, La Paz National High School, Saint Rose High School, Gerona Western National High School, Maliwalo National High School, Sto. Cristo Integrated School, Interworld College Foundation, Iba High School, Mababanaba National High School, College of the Holy Spirit, Ecumenical Christian College, Tarlac Agriculture University and Tarlac State University.
