CITY OF SAN FERNANDO — SM Supermalls in Central Luzon spread Christmas cheers to communities with its malls engaged in simultaneous gift-giving activities on Dec. 13.
Through its charity arm SM Foundation Inc., SM Supermalls distributed more than 2,000 Christmas packs all over the region to kickstart a special project that aims to bring happiness and hope to families in communities around SM malls.
In Pampanga, at least 1,700 food packs were distributed.
SM City Clark distributed 500 food packs in Barangay Diaz, Porac; Sitios Haduan and Calapi, Mabalacat City, in partnership with Philippine Air Force, Basa Air Base.
From SM City Pampanga, SM City Telabastagan, SM City San Fernando Downtown, and SM Savemore Apalit, food packs were distributed in barangays Masamat and Lagundi in Mexico; Telabastagan, San Jose, Maimpis, and Calulut in the City of San Fernando; and San Juan in Apalit.
For SM City Tarlac, at least 300 chosen beneficiaries from Sitio Balas, Barangay San Roque, Tarlac City received food packs. Another 300 were distributed by SM City Cabanatuan employees at the Bulwagan ng Katutubo (Aeta community) in Sitio Bacao, Palayan City.
From SM Olongapo Central and SM City Olongapo, 300 packs were given to residents of barangays East Tapinac and East Bajac Bajac, while another 200 packs were given for barangays Pagasa and New Asinan.
The gift-giving is part of SM Supermalls effort to support communities and sectors in need especially persons with disabilities, seniors groups, urban poor, and indigenous people. SM-PR
