SM Foundation donates 95th school building to Kalalake Elem School

SM FOUNDATION has been very active member of DepEd’s Adopt-A-School program since 2002. The two storey 4-classroom school building with 200 armchairs, 4 sets of teacher’s table/chair, 16 wall fans, 8 blackboards, 4 wall clocks, and 4 toilets donated to Kalalake Elementary School in Olongapo City is also a PWD-friendly building with 20-left handed armchairs, PWD ramp and PWD toilet.

The building was turned over to Kalalake Elementary School on September 12, 2019 alongside with the Blessing and ceremonial ribbon cutting of the new SM mall in Olongapo , the SM City Olongapo Central.

The school building is also emergency-ready with a staircase on both sides of the building and emergency lights at the landings of both staircases. A fire alarm bell was also installed in the building.

SM Foundation Executive Director for Education Ms. Linda Atayde, SM City Olongapo Downtown Assistant Mall Manager Denmark Desolo, SM City Olongapo Central PR Manager Nette Mortel, SM Foundation AVP in charge of School Building Program Ms. Juris Soliman and SM Foundation AVP for Education Ms. Ling Lansang graced the occasion joined by Olongapo City Mayor Rolen “Len J” Paulino, Jr., City Councilors Lugie Lipumano and Cristabelle Paulino, Kalalake Elementary School Principal Pastor Padua, Asst. Schools Division Superintendent Enrique Angeles and DepEd officials.

“It is very warming and happy that amongst the schools of Schools Division of Olongapo City Office, we were chosen as the beneficiary of this school building program of SM Prime Holdings and SM Foundation. As school principal of this institution, I will see to it that your donation will be truly an avenue of learnings that will stand proud even many years have passed as it will continue to serve the learners in the community,” remarked Pastor Ll. Padua, Kalalake Elementary School principal.

The following were also donated to Kalalake Elementary School by SM Prime: Book corner with shelves and some chairs, 2,000 books, 20 computers, 2 spotlights installed outside the building. SM also donated wall clocks for the other classrooms in support of DepEd’s Project WATCH (We Advocate Time Consciousness and Honesty).
