SM MALL in San Jose del Monte City conducted a fire prevention seminar as part of its participation to Bureau of Fire Protection’s month long Fire-Prevention awareness campaign.
Before the month ends, SM City San Jose del Monte engaged its employees, partner agencies, tenants, and affiliates to participate in the said activity to refresh and widen their knowledge about fire prevention and safety.
Along with this year’s theme for fire prevention month, “Ligtas na Pilipinas ating Kamtin, Bawat Pamilya ay Sanayin, Kaalaman sa Sunog Ay Palawakin”, the Fire Prevention Seminar was also conducted to increase and strengthen the mall’s Fire Fighting Brigade preparedness and coordination. SM wants to continue conducting this type of activity and provide trainings to its employees towards the safety not only of their customers, but the employees can also extend their knowledge and skills at home.
Senior Fire Officer (SFO) 3 Clarissa SB Ramos said that SM is the only establishment who has a fully trained and certified Fire Fighting Team in the city of San Jose del Monte, in which other large scale businesses are inspired to also have their own trained fire fighters.
The seminar was followed by an actual demonstration of fire suppression using fire extinguisher and firehose. Spearheaded by BFP members, managers and supervisors of participating stores actively joined the mock fire at the mall’s lagoon area.
On top of the Fire Prevention Seminar, series of follow through disaster preparedness refresher courses will be continuously carried out such as Earthquake preparedness and first aid trainings, not only for the benefit of the establishment but for the whole community.
