Seventh Negosyo Center in Aurora launched

The seventh Negosyo Center in Aurora was opened on August 20, 2018 by the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) in the northern municipality of Dilasag.

Gracing the occasion were Municipal Mayor Joe P. Gorospe, DTI- 3 Regional Director Judith P. Angeles, DTI Aurora Provincial Director Edna D. Dizon, DTI –Nueva Ecija Director Brigida T. Pili and members of the Sangguniang Bayan led by Vice Mayor Romner A. Agustin.

The ceremony was held at the Dilasag municipal hall. As part of its support to DTI’s initiatives on SME development, DOST Regional Director Julius Cesar Sicat also attended the occasion, together with PD Maricel Sicat of DOST Aurora.

The president of the Aurora Chamber of Commerce and Industry Ariel Querijero was also present in the event.

The business community of Dilasag, composed of Overseas Filipino Workers (OFWs) and micro entrepreneurs and retailers operating in the area, were glad to be part of the launching. They gladly accepted the opportunity of having a Negosyo Center in the area.

The attendees mentioned that with the Center, transactions with the government will be easier and more convenient.

The Negosyo Center, as provided by RA 10644, provides business advisory, business information, market matching, product development and financial intermediary services to potential and existing micro small and medium enterprises (MSME) to help them contribute to economic development.

RD Judith P. Angeles, in her message, emphasized the important role of the Center for Dilasag, considering that Dilasag is the farthest muunicipality of Aurora Province.

For his part, Mayor Gorospe shared in his message the need to have one Negosyo Center to really open economic opportunities in the area, with the development of more micro entrepreneurs in the municipality.

He said that the opening of the Negosyo Center Dilasag will be supportive of his commitment to create more economic and employment opportunities for the people of Dilasag.

The Dilasag Negosyo Center, likewise, will offer ease of doing business to prospective and existing business owners since they will no longer go to Baler to file their business name registrations and other requirements to start a business.

Mayor Gorospe expressed his gratitude to DTI for the opportunity to have a Negosyo Center in their town. With the operationalization of the Negosyo Center there, DTI Aurora is hopeful that more businesses will flourish in the area.

During the event, a Memorandum of Agreement for the operation of the Negosyo Center was signed by DTI and LGU officials. A pledge wall of commitment to support the center was also signed by the attending stakeholders.
