Any dish from the deep tastes great on its own, but for a superb fish treat, Century Hotel’s Seafood Night, gives a big shot to jump start the weekend feast. Commonly known as The Pecking House, located in Century Hotel Angeles City, is really taking its way since the revamp.
A lot of things are still on the budge but when it comes to hotel’s daily buffet offerings, Seafood Night every Friday is generating a lot of buzz to the locals.
“When I joined the team two years ago, we made a lot of changes in the kitchen, on the menu, and even suppliers, the management is really strict when comes to freshness of ingredients and taste of each dish we serve”, shares Executive Chef Roberto “Bong” Sagmit.
While true to its promise of freshness and good taste, the buffet also offers gamut of popular seafood dishes like for starter loads and loads of fresh oysters, crabs and shrimps whether fresh, grilled or baked waiting on the wings, Paela Valencianca, Egg Foo Yung, Steamed Fish Fillet, and of course for the star of the night it has to be, Baked Salmon, on the carving station.
For dessert, not so much of selections but uniqueness is primer, as Chef Bong enthusiastically served me his personal version of soft served ice cream dessert Cereal and Strawberry Swirl (oh yes…corn flakes breakfast cereal! ), other must try flavors include Jack Daniel and Royal True Orange soft served ice cream.
“We wanted to make a difference in the restaurant industry of Pampanga by serving unique but tasteful dishes.
We want to introduce a different dining experience”, reveals Chef Bong, who again enthusiastically served me another signature not-so-good-looking-but-so-delicious-appetizer Pusit Chicharon.
With all these deep sea and off shore overloads, the new Pecking House was definitely worth the try and easy on my pocket, too.
