(MARKET SUMMIT. The City Government of San Fernando headed by Mayor Edwin ‘EdSa’ Santiago stages this year’s ‘Market Summit’ on February 11, 2019 at the Mini Convention Center, Heroes Hall, in line with the celebration of 18th Cityhood Anniversary or Kaganapan.)

A discussion on best practices and hygienic handling of meat towards safe, healthy, and wholesome consumption was held in the City of San Fernando during the “Market Summit” which was held on February 11, 2019 at the Mini Convention Center, Heroes Hall.

The said activity was in line with the celebration of 18th Cityhood Anniversary or Kaganapan, which was made possible through the initiatives of the City Agriculture and Veterinary Office (CAVO) and in support of the National Meat Inspection Service (NMIS).

Butchers in the slaughterhouse, meat vendors, and dealers in the public markets of the capital city participated in the seminar, given by speakers from NMIS who also fielded questions and clarifications regarding meat handling.

For his part, Mayor Edwin ‘EdSa’ Santiago encouraged everyone to support the city’s actions and programs towards safe and healthy living.

“Masasabi natin na isa lamang itong simpleng programa, pero kung inyong titignan ay napakahalaga pala nito na malaman ninyo ang mga wastong gawin upang makaiwas at maligtas sa panganib at sakit ang mga mamimili. Dahil dito sa Syudad San Fernando, ay hangad natin ang pagkakapantay-pantay kaya ang lahat ng mga sektor ay may mga nakalaan na programa o proyekto para sa kanilang ikauunlad,” he said.
