ABUCAY, Bataan- The beautiful Villa Amanda Resort and Restaurant sits adjacent to the MacArthur Highway in Barangay Capitangan here, making it one of the most sought and accessible resorts in the province.
It can be reached easily from the north and south of Bataan by tricycle, passenger jeepney and mini-bus.
The resort has three roofed-swimming pools protecting bathers from direct sunlight. There is a kiddie pool for toddlers, another swimming pool for children and a big long pool for teenagers and adults. The kiddie pool as well has a beautifully roofed-slide while on the bridge of the big swimming pool are super hero characters.
All three pools are with showers on both sides like the drops of light rains to the enjoyment of the swimmers.
Visitors not only enjoy the pools but the food that the restaurant on top of tilapia ponds offers.
“Dinarayo rito ang iba’t-ibang luto ng tilapia lalo na ang pesa pati na ang pinaputok at inihaw na isinasawsaw sa kalamansi at bagoong,” head cook Aling Baby said. Also offered are tortang alimasag, calamares, sinigang na sugpo, halabos na hipon, alimango, karekare, among some others.
“The best ang sisig namin,” the resort cook for 17 years said. Aside from native dishes, the resort also serves Chinese cuisine. Owner Aling Amanda personally supervises the resort and sees to it that guests are properly served and safe. Lifeguards are on hand in every swimming pool.
Children and adults alike enjoy visiting the resort’s mini-zoo that houses different kinds of birds, monkey, crocodile and pythons. “Enjoy kami kaya pabalik-balik kami rito,” three teenaged girls from the towns of Orani and Hermosa in Bataan said.
The resort offers basic swimming lessons.
