CABANATUAN CITY – Road clearing operations were in full blast in several Nueva Ecija municipalities Thursday morning with the number of fallen trees blocking major roads.
Provincial disaster risk reduction and management office personnel and local counterparts in Talugtog, Science City of Muñoz, Lupao, Jaen, Cabiao, Guimba, Gabaldon, Sta. Rosa, among other places, went outearly to clear the roads, based on PDRRMO monitoring.
A road section in Barangay Olivete, Bongabon was closed to traffic due to increasing water and strong current.
Water level in Pantabangan increased to 198.96 meters as of 7:45 a.m. Thursday from 198.30 at 11 p.m. of Wednesday, according to the National Irrigation Administration-Upper Pampanga River Integrated Irrigation System (NIA-UPRIIS).
The current level is 22.04 meters short of the dam’s spilling level of 221 meters. It recorded an average inflow of 318 centimeters per second with the rainfall of 70.1 mm, said Engr. Rosalinda Bote, NIA UPRIIS department manager.
Pantabangan Dam’s gate remained closed.
