BALANGA City– Gov. Albert Garcia on Monday announced that manpower, equipment and relief goods are ready in Bataan in preparation for Typhoon Ruby.
The governor said he has convened the Provincial Disaster Risk, Reduction Management Council the past days and would re-conveneit Monday noon to set all concerned agencies in motion.
“Huwag naman sanang maging mapaminsala ang bagyo pero naghanda na rin ang provincial government. We have advised all municipal and city mayors and barangay chairmen in 11 towns and one city to be prepared,” Garcia said.
The governor suspended classes in all lev-els, both public and private, in the whole province Monday. Workers were rushing the repacking of relief goods consisting of three kilos of rice, canned goods and coffee per pack at the National Food Authority warehouse in Balanga City.
Tess Senora, chief of the Office of Civil Defense said personnel and rescue equipment were ready. She showed two of three rubberboats, two ambulances and various equipment for rescue operations.
She said that dump trucks and other equipment from the Department of Public Works And Highways, provincial engineering office, Philippine National Police and the Philippine Army are prepared. “Personnel and equipment are ready any time,” Senora said.
