BALANGA CITY — The Office of Congressman Albert Garcia on Monday continued its distribution of relief goods in the second district of Bataan, targeting typhoon-affected families in this city and the towns of Pilar, Orion, and Limay.
First to receive food packages last Wednesday, Sept. 20, were 2,500 families in Pilar, followed by the same number of beneficiaries in Limay on Monday, September 25.
Pilar Mayor Charlie Pizarro thanked Garcia and the Department of Social Welfare and Development for the assistance to his townmates.
Garcia said to follow are 2,500 beneficiaries each in Balanga City and Orion.
Bataan is divided into three congressional districts with Congresswoman Geraldine Roman in the first district and Rep. Maria Angela Garcia in the third district.
Each food pack contains canned tuna (4), sardines (2), and corned beef (4), five sachets of 3-in-1 coffee mix, five single packs of cereal drink and six kilograms of rice.
“Ito ay karagdagang tulong sa ating mga kababayan na lubhang naapektuhan ang kabuhayan ng mga nagdaang bagyo,” Garcia said.
He thanked the DSWD headed by Sec. Rex Gatchalian and Region 3 director Jonathan Dirain for helping his constituents.
“Umasa kayo na patuloy ang ating mga pagsisikap at pakikipag-ugnayan sa iba’t ibang ahensya ng pamahalaan at pribadong sektor upang makatulong sa ating mga kababayang higit na nangangailangan,” Garcia told his district.
