BALANGA CITY — Registrants trooped to offices of the Commission on Elections in Bataan during the last day of the extended voter’s registration Saturday.
At past 3 in the afternoon, there were still long lines of people like in the election offices of Limay and at the Waltermart temporary registration center in Balanga City.
Melanio Sibayan, Balanga City election officer, said there were many registrants this Saturday and they may be attending to them even at past the closing time of 5 p.m.
He said that they received many calls inquiring if they were still receiving registrants that he said depended on the time Waltermart will stay open.
“Kung may dapat kaming tapusing nagpaparehistro, tatapusin namin kahit lampas na sa alas-5 ng hapon,” Sibayan said.
He said that during the past registration days, the most they attended to were 250 registrants but this Saturday, the number was already beyond 300.
Sibayan said definitely there will be no more extension of the voter’s registration period for the May 2022 elections.
