CITY OF SAN FERNANDO, Pampanga (PIA) — The Regional Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (RDRRMC) Emergency Operations Center raised its alert status to Red following the effects of continuous rains brought by the southwest monsoon enhanced by Typhoon Carina in Central Luzon.
RDRRMC Chairperson and Office of Civil Defense Regional Director Amador Corpus issued Memo No. 46, s. 2024 heightening the monitoring and immediate response and mobilization of resources to affected areas.
Relative to this, the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) convened the members of the Response Cluster to provide updates on the response efforts in the seven provinces and two highly urbanized cities as well as the actions taken by the members.
DSWD Regional Director Venus Rebuldela assured the availability of prepositioned resources such as food and non-food items.
Moreover, other Response Cluster members are on standby and ready for augmentation.
Based on the situational report as of 7:00 PM on July 24, 2024, a total of 199 barangays in Central Luzon are currently flooded while 49,835 families are affected by the torrential downpour. (RPQ/CLJD, PIA Region 3-Pampanga)
