BALANGA City, Bataan- Patrol 117 of the provincial government of Bataan recovered in Caloocan City through extensive radio contacts an 18-year old girl allegedly in the state of trauma three days after she left her house in Samal, Bataan.

Patrol 117 chief Adam Ragadio and administrative staff Sammy Payumo said on Thursday that after they were informed by the girl’s mother, they began their search through radio communications.

After three days, a tipster with the radio code “Nimfa” advised 117 that Chello (not her real name) was in their custody in Caloocan City.

Payumo said Chello in her lucid moment told “Nimfa” that she boarded a passenger bus from Samal and alighted in Camachille and walked from there until she saw the Iglesia Ni Cristo church in Tandang Sora Street, Caloocan. When asked at the Patrol 117 office in Balanga City if she had transportation fare when she left home, the girl just stared blankly.

The 48-year old mother Lina (not her real name) was formerly a garment factory worker and presently a store helper selling hot pandesal. She said Chello is her only daughter and second to the eldest in three children. The teenaged girl graduated from high school.

She recounted that she knew of her husband’s sexual molestation against their daughter only in 2004 after Chello told her of her sad experience from own father, a 49-year old balut vendor. The mother said she learned that her husband first molested their child when she was nine years old.

Lina said that after her kumare, a school teacher, confirmed that her child was really molested, she reported the matter to the Samal police. The mother could not say what happened to her complaint. Lina said that there were times that her daughter was in trauma.

“Bigla na lamang umaalis at hindi alam ang ginagawa,” Lina said, adding that what happened this week was the fourth time the girl left. “Mabuti na lamang at may mabubuting kalooban na ibinabalik nila ang anak ko sa amin,” she said.

The mother said she has been bringing her daughter back and forth to the Mariveles Mental Hospital for consultation but that she could not fully support the medicinal needs of her girl.
