CABANATUAN CITY – An alleged big-time illegal drugs peddler was arrested by anti-drugs operatives in a buy-bust operation in Barangay San Juan Accfa here before midnight Friday, police reported.
Supt. Pedro Soliba, Jr., city police chief, identified the suspect as Mario Joson, 57, a resident of Barangay San Isidro, Zaragosa, Nueva Ecija. The suspect yielded 70 plastic sachets of suspected shabu after selling one of them to a poseur-buyer at around 11:30 p.m., Soliba said. The haul has an estimated street value of P150,000.
Police said Joson was subjected to a surveillance operation after his name got into the police drug watch list. A follow up investigation is being conducted to determine the source of shabu which the suspect bring in here, police reported.
Soliba said the suspect is facing charges for violation of Sections 5 and 11 of Republic Act 9165.
