CITY OF SAN FERNANDO — A total of 1,090 farmers from various towns in Pampanga received financial assistance through the Presidential Assistance to Farmers, Fisherfolk, and their Families (PAFFF) in partnership with the Provincial Government of Pampanga on March 25.
Gov. Dennis “Delta” Pineda and Vice Gov. Lilia “Nanay” Pineda personally led the distribution of checks, reaffirming their administration’s commitment to supporting local farmers. They were joined by Deputy Speaker of the House Camille Villar, sangguniang panlalawigan committee on agriculture chair Atty. Ananias Canlas Jr., special assistant to the governor Angelina Blanco, and office of the provincial agriculturist (OPA) chief Jimmy Manliclic.
According to the OPA, the beneficiaries were part of the initial batch for this year, following two previous distributions of the same assistance last year.
“Magpasalamat po tayo kay Pangulong Marcos dahil binababa niya po ‘yung mga programa ng national government sa Pampanga at dinagdagan niya pa po ang mga benepisyaryo para mas maraming Kapampangan ang matulungan,” said Governor Pineda.
Under Pineda, the provincial government continues to prioritize agricultural development and ensure that farmers receive the support they need to sustain their livelihood.
It can be recalled that apart from the said assistance, the provincial disaster risk reduction and management council has also extended support to farmers affected by El Niño through various aid programs.
The provincial government, through the OPA, also continues to distribute seedlings and fertilizers to help sustain agricultural productivity.
Meanwhile, one of the most highly anticipated initiatives under the administration is the upcoming inauguration of the rice complex facility in Guagua which is expected to enhance post-harvest processing and ensure fair market prices for farmers, further strengthening the province’s agricultural sector.
Also present during the event to show their support were board members Fritzie David Dizon, Sajid Eusoof, and Atty. Claire Lim, along with Pampanga Mayors League president Apalit Mayor Jun Tetangco, Lubao Mayor Esmeralda Pineda, and Sta. Rita Mayor Arthur Salalila. Photos: Daniel Ombina/PPIO
