LAUR, Nueva Ecija – Police vowed to leave no stone unturned, including politics, in the killing of the chairman of Barangay San Isidro here at around 7 p.m. on July 13.
Nueva Ecija police director Col. Heryl Bruno said investigators are gathering evidences in efforts to get the killers of barangay chairman Cesar Asuncion of the said village.
Asuncion reportedly sustained four gunshot wounds in the head from a still unspecified gun caliber.
“We try to find ways and means to capture the suspect,” Bruno said, noting that the police are still looking for the possible motive of the unidentified suspect.
Asumcion was the second village chief killed in Nueva Ecija after the May 12, 2025 elections. The first was Joel Damacio of Barangay Calipahan, Talavera town who was gunned down last June.
