Thus, Interior and Local Government Assistant Secretary Francisco Cruz cited the city governments “efficient and effective utilization of social media in catering to the information needs of the residents during the Covid-19 pandemic.

Mayor Carmelo Pogi Lazatin Jr. served as resource person in a webinar where he outlined his administrations policy initiatives to help in the recovery and revival of local businesses in the city, particularly the small and medium enterprises, amid the pandemic.

Among those cited by the mayor were the waiving of the P500 administrative fee for the One Town One Product (OTOP) store, the “Pasalone: Angeleño Pa” or the “Gawang Angeleño” campaign, making the OTOP store available on Shopee, the Mobile Pampang Market, the face mask livelihood program, the creation of the online market for local merchants, and pushing for a paperless and cashless transaction through an online payment system.

Lazatin likewise underscored the pivotal role of the city information offices Facebook page in helping check the spread of fake news.

With Angeles CIO
