CLARK FREEPORT – “By December 2024, there will be no CCTV blind spots left in Angeles City.”
Thus, Mayor Carmelo “Pogi” Lazatin, Jr. assured Korean businessmen of his administrations initiatives to maintain peace and order in the city during a meeting with them at the Royce Hotel here on Sept. 11.
“To date, a total of 186 CCTVs have been installed in Angeles City and I have ordered the installation of additional security cameras in another 67 sites,” he reported. “The installation of 1,500 solar lights in all major and secondary roads in the city will also be finished by October 2024.”
“I have also instructed the Angeles City Police Office and the Angeles City Tourist Auxiliary to maintain an additional presence in Korea Town to monitor safety and further prevent crime,” the mayor furthered.
Pampanga Vice Gov. Lilia “Nanay” Pineda, who co-organized the event, ensured the full support of the provincial government to the Lazatin’s peace and order initiatives.
“Kami ni Governor Dennis Pineda], kasama si Mayor Lazatin, we will ensure your safety,” Pineda told the Korean community led by its president Jong Phil Choi.
The meeting with the Korean businessmen was called in the wake of recent isolated cases of criminal acts against members of the Korean community.
“The Korean community has been a long-standing and important figure in the development of Angeles,” noted Lazatin.
“The City Government of Angeles remains steadfast in our commitment to preserving peace and order, promoting welfare, and protecting the safety of Angelenos – which includes the Korean Community,” he added.
