CABANATUAN CITY –  A total of 17 medical personnel of the Nueva Ecija Provincial Police Office are now deployed in two government hospitals amidst the fight against the coronavirus disease.

Nueva Ecija police director Col. Jaime Santos said their personnel who were either registered nurses or graduates of medical-related courses were deployed to the Dr. Paulino J. Garcia Memorial Research and Medical Center and the Eduardo L. Joson Memorial Hospital “to serve as additional manpower” of the said health institutions.

This after the NEPPO inked another term of a memorandum of agreement with the Nueva Ecija Inter-Agency Task Force headed by Gov. Aurelio Umali that was forged in April 2021.

Under the agreement, the PNP medical personnel are to serve for a renewable period of  six months in any public or private hospitals.

“These personnel are currently providing assistance to Covid-19 patients during isolation procedures and other functions supporting medical frontliners,” Santos said.

“It is our desire to support this genuine health undertaking for the spirit of BARANGAYanihan and volunteerism, benefiting the citizenry in this period of pandemic, and also providing support for the welfare of our augment PNP nurses,” he added.
