TARLAC CITY – The Provincial Health Office of Tarlac garnered five major awards and one special award from the Department of Health-Region III during the Central Luzon Excellence Awards for Health 2022 held recently at the Kingsborough International Convention Center in the City of San Fernando.
The awards are given in recognition of the efforts of all the doctors and nurses in the different areas in Central Luzon who have been continuously delivering quality medical services to the people.
PHO-Tarlac received the Excellence Award on Universal Health Care (UHC) Implementation, Covid-HERO (Hospital Excellence in Response Outbreak), National Hospital Star Awardee, Covid-19 Response Excellence Award, and Outstanding Performance in 2021 LGU Health Scorecard while also being recognized as the Most Consistent Province and Best Supportive Supervision, a special award for Covid-19 vaccination.
The PHO headed by Dr. Jeannette Lazatin, together with Provincial DOH representative Maria Noel Lim and other PHO staff received the awards.
The Excellence Award on UHC Implementation is given to the province who brave the challenges of being a UHC Integration Site, being a model for pro-activeness, health system thinking and sustainable health system; Covid HERO is being awarded to the hospital who have been instrumental in assuring an absorptive Central Luzon for Covid-19 clinical management; National Hospital Star Award is given to a hospital with exemplary practices related to safety and infection control, service provision, customer and employees satisfaction, community based activities, and quality improvements.
The Covid-19 Response Excellence Award is given to the LGU with outstanding contribution, work, and achievements in responding to Covid-19 while the Outstanding Performance in 2021 LGU Health Scorecard is given to LGUs with outstanding performances in local health scorecard.
The certificate of recognition for being the Most Consistent Province and Best Supportive Supervision, on the other hand, is given to the province with long history of excellent vaccination implementation.
The municipality of San Clemente, Tarlac likewise received the major award for Outstanding Performance in 2021 LGU Health Scorecard.
Other Tarlac LGUs to receive achievement awards for health program implementation were San Jose for Orally Fit Community Award; San Jose, Camiling, Sta. Ignacia, La Paz, Moncada, and Mayantoc for Maternal, Newborn and Child Health and Nutrition-Reproductive Health; Tarlac City for the Most Improved LGU in Environmental Health Services Initiatives; Moncada, Gerona, and Camiling for being Outstanding LGUs in the Implementation of PCF Licensure.
In a message, Gov. Susan Yap congratulated the PHO for bagging several awards from the DOH.
