Alden Richards and Maine Mendoza, also known as AlDub, won TV Stars of the Year. Kathryn Bernardo and Daniel Padilla, or KathNiel to their fans, were named Movie Stars of the Year.
Aside from TV Stars of the Year, Alden and Maine also won Newsmaker of the Year and Celebrity Pair of the Year.
The two Kapuso stars also picked up individual awards: Female Breakout Star of the Year for Maine and Best PEPtalk Episode for Alden.
On the other hand, Kathryn once again bagged the Female Teen Star of the Year award. The PEP List also honored the performances of actors and actresses in both drama and comedy.
Glaiza de Castro was chosen as Teleserye Actress of the Year for her performance as a lesbian lover in The Rich Man’s Daughter, while her fellow Kapuso star Ken Chan was named Teleserye Actor of the Year for his role as a transwoman in Destiny Rose.
Meanwhile, Cherry Pie Picache and Arjo Atayde picked up trophies as Teleserye Supporting Actress and Teleserye Supporting Actor of the Year, respectively.
Cherry Pie won for her performance as a lesbian mom in On The Wings of Love, while Arjo was cited for his role as a villain cop in the still ongoing Kapamilya primetime series FPJ’s Ang Probinsyano.
In the comedy department, Banana Sundae’s Angelica Panganiban was chosen as Comedy Actress of the Year, while Wally Bayola won as Comedy Actor of the Year for his performances in Eat Bulaga! and Sunday Pinasaya. Veteran actor John Arcilla, who was memorable in his portrayal of Heneral Luna in the movie of the same title, was named Male Breakout Star of the Year.
The TV programs honored at this year’s The PEP List are On The Wings of Love (Primetime Series of the Year), Destiny Rose (Daytime Series of the Year), Eat Bulaga! (Variety Show of the Year), The Voice Kids Season 2 (Reality Show of the Year), and Sunday Pinasaya (Comedy Show of the Year). Special awards were also handed out to the staff and contributors of PEP.
Staff Writers of the year are Rachelle Siazon and Arniel Serato; while Rose Garcia, Gorgy Rula, and Rommel Gonzales are the Contributors of the Year. The SM Store also chose Alden Richards and Gabbi Garcia as Stylish Stars of the Night The PEP List Year 3 Awards Night was hosted by Mikael Daez and Jasmine Curtis-Smith.
Performers include Angeline Quinto, Christian Bautista, KZ Tandingan, and Gloc-9. The PEP List is divided into two categories: the Editors’ Choice and the PEPsters’ Choice.
Before the awards night, the winners of the PEPsters’ Choice, which were decided by the PEP readers through online voting, were already announced through an article published last August 12. Included in the PEPsters’ Choice categories are Movie Stars of the Year, Newsmaker of the Year, Celebrity Pair of the Year, Teen Stars of the Year, Favorite Wedding of the Year, and Child Star of the Year. On the other hand, the winners of the Editors’ Choice were announced on the awards night itself.
These include TV Stars of the Year, Teleserye Actor and Actress of the Year, Comedy Stars of the Year, Teleserye Supporting Actor and Supporting Actress of the Year, Primetime Series of the Year, Daytime Series of the Year, Variety Show of the Year, Reality/Competition Show of the Year, Breakout Stars of the Year, and Best PEP Talk Episode of the Year.
