ANGELES CITY – One of the official candidates of Partido Abe Kapampangan for councilor, Jose Aubrey “Kuya Jay” Pelayo IV expressed his one hundred percent support for the additional social pension program to be given to the senior citizens of this highly urbanized city.
“I am a product of a senior citizen. My father, the late Dr. Jose Pelayo who was a former Social Welfare Secretary was already 65 years old when I was born,” Pelayo said.
Pelayo added: “My siblings from my father are all senior citizens right now… some of them are even older than my mother. This is one of the many reasons why the senior citizens are so close to my heart.”
There are around 44,000 senior citizens in Angeles City and more than 1,000 are receiving quarterly pension from the government.
Pelayo vowed to support the program of the party to provide additional beneficiaries of the said social pension to help more senior Angeleños.
“And this time, I don’t want our elderly to go to city hall to claim their pension. I want the social pension funds for the senior citizen to go directly to their barangays for a more convenient process,” Pelayo said during his speech.
