CABANATUAN CITY (PIA) — A total of 2,319 beneficiaries in Licab, Nueva Ecija each received a 10-kilogram rice pack through the first cycle of the Assistance to Indigent Individuals or Families–Rice Distribution Program (AIIF-RDP), bringing food assistance closer to vulnerable families in the community.
Funded under the FY 2026 Local Government Support Fund–Financial Assistance to Local Government Units of President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr., the initiative supports local government units (LGUs) in implementing programs that respond to the needs of their constituents, particularly vulnerable individuals and families.
In a statement, the Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) said the successful implementation of the AIIF-RDP underscores the continuing commitment of the national government to bring essential programs and services closer to communities, particularly during times of economic hardship.

DILG added that through collaborative efforts of the national and local governments, assistance is extended to those who need it most, helping alleviate the daily challenges faced by indigent families.
The rice was supplied by the Barangay Aquino Development Cooperative, a local cooperative in Licab, supporting the delivery of assistance within the community.
The initiative is consistent with PBBM’s directive to ensure that government assistance reaches vulnerable sectors and that public programs are brought closer to communities.
This distribution also reflects the administration’s continuing efforts to strengthen food security and social protection through coordinated action among national government agencies and LGUs. (CLJD/CNG, PIA Region 3-Nueva Ecija)
