This approval is pursuant to Resolution No. 1-S-2015 stating that the plans and measures formulated shall include programs and projects to maintain peace and order, minimize or prevent the occurrence of crimes, and train and equip barangay officials, bantay bayan, police personnel and the City/municipal and barangay peace and order councils with proper knowledge and skills in the discharge of their duties.
The funds will be used for the purchase of guns and ammunition; construction / maintenance / upgrading of police station; gasoline and lubricants; capability building programs to strengthen different institutions, local officials and other stakeholders; conduct of briefings, trainings, seminars, fora and summits; production of T-shirts; purchase of supplies and materials and equipment outlay.
This is in line with Executive Order No. 309, mandating the local peace and order councils at all levels to formulate plans and recommend such measures, which will improve or enhance peace and order and public safety in their respective areas of responsibility.
