The Pampanga Green Youth Army is set to expand membership to engage more school youth in advocating for environment and food security awareness in their respective communities.
CITY OF SAN FERNANDO– The Pampanga Green Youth Army (GYA) is set to expand its membership this year.
GYA Director General Raymundo Timbol said this is to engage more school youth in advocating for environment and food security awareness in their respective communities.
“Engaging in green activities like managing greenhouses, conducting seminars, and planting vegetables which they distribute to their localities after harvesting helps the youth to be productive members of the community. That is the goal of our organization,” Timbol said.
The official added that they also aim to showcase the beauty of GYA so that it can be replicated or benchmarked even in Visayas and Mindanao.
Currently, GYA has active partnership with Tinajero National High School in Magalang, Camachile National High School in Mabalacat City, San Juan Baño High School in Arayat, Porac Model Community School in Porac, San Basilio High School in Sta. Rita and Remigio Bondoc High School in San Luis.
Meanwhile, three schools in the City of San Fernando are in the early process of application.
In addition, Timbol said 33 public and private schools in and out of Pampanga have submitted their application.
Their approval, however, depends on the directives of Department of Agriculture.
