Pampanga Capitol joins nationwide Women’s Month Celebration

CITY OF SAN FERNANDO – The provincial government of Pampanga joined the nationwide Women’s Month celebration through a series of simultaneous activities held on Monday, March 11.

More than 800 Capitol employees converged at the Capitol Grounds within the Capitol Compound for the festive kick-off which commenced with a fun run followed by Zumba exercises. The theme this year is “Lipunang Patas sa Bagong Pilipinas: Kakayahan ng Kababaihan, Patunayan!”

Provincial Administrator, Atty. Charlie Chua, delivered a message, highlighting the indispensable role of women as exemplars of virtue. He extended gratitude to women for their invaluable contributions not only within the capitol but also within their families and the broader society.

“Ang pamahalaang panlalawigan, sa pamumuno ni Governor Dennis “Delta” Pineda ay nagbibigay pugay sa inyong mga kababaihan na patuloy na nagbibigay ng maayos at mahusay na serbisyo sa ating lalawigan at sa ating bansa. Ang inyong husay at determinasyon sa pagganap ng inyong napaka halagang tungkulin ay nagsisilbing pundasyon ng ating bansa,” he said.

On behalf of Governor Dennis Delta Pineda, Special Assistant to the Governor and PDRRMO Chief, Angelina Blanco, echoed the governor’s pride in the female employees of the capitol, emphasizing their empowerment and awareness of their rights.

“Marami na pong batas na nagpoprotekta sa ating mga kababaihan. So we have equal opportunities sa mga lalaki. Sabi nga nila, what men can do, women can do better. Ding orientation tamu kening kapitolyu mangatapang tamu uling ababalu tala deng batas,” she expressed.

The event concluded with a heartfelt serenade by Jeff Ferrando, followed by male department heads presenting flowers to their female counterparts, board members, and other employees, symbolizing appreciation and respect.

A specialized medical mission for women is scheduled to take place at the Bren Z. Guiao Convention Center tomorrow. The mission will offer a comprehensive range of medical services, including check-ups, pap smears, breast examinations, CX-rays, dental extractions, and urine albumin-creatinine ratio tests, promoting women’s health and well-being.

As a treat for all women employees, Governor Delta announced that all of them would be granted a half-day off from work.

Other exciting activities lined up for the Women’s Month celebration include a GAD Planning and Budgeting Workshop on March 14 & 15, Responsible Parenting Movement Class featuring the insertion of Subdermal Implants on March 22, and an Orientation on the Magna Carta of Women (RA 9710) and Other Related Laws on Women on March 26 & 27.
