CITY OF SAN FERNANDO – The Department of Labor and Employment handed P5,450,000 to the Pampanga provincial government for its livelihood programs.
DOLE Integrated Livelihood Program (DILP).
Vice Gov. Lilia “Nanay” Pineda on Oct. 17 received from DOLE-3 regional director Geraldine Panlilio checks covering the funds from the DOLE Integrated Livelihood Program (DILP).
The DILP is a flagship program of the agency to help sustain marginalized groups such as self-employed workers unable to earn sufficient income, unpaid family workers, low-waged and seasonal workers, workers displaced or to be displaced, marginalized and landless farmers, marginalized fisher-folks, women and youth, persons with disability, senior citizens, indigenous peoples, victims of armed conflicts, rebel returnees, and parents of child laborers.
Under DILP, associations with 15 to 25 members may receive a grant of up to P250,000, while P500,000 will be given to those with 26 to 50 members. Those with over 50 members may get up to P1 million.
To avail themselves of the program, associations are required to register with DOLE.
The DILP also helps solo projects where qualified beneficiaries may get a Starter Kit or the Nego-Kart (Negosyo sa Kariton) with P20,000 financial aid.
However, enrollees in the Department of Social Welfare and Development’s Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program and government employees including those at the local government units are not eligible for the program. Punto News Team/Pampanga PIO
