BALANGA CITY — Data gathered by the provincial health office Tuesday showed that only 1.51 percent of those fully vaccinated in the province turned positive of the coronavirus disease, Gov. Albert Garcia announced Wednesday.

Of the 257,205 fully vaccinated, only 3,887 tested positive of the virus. So far, 541,499 vaccine doses have been administered in Bataan with 292,866 receiving the first dose.

Garcia said that this is proof that vaccines against Covid–19 are effective and giving protection against the virus coupled with strict adherence to basic health protocols.

The governor announced that additional vaccines from the Department of Health arrived in Bataan Tuesday that will be used in different vaccination sites.

The new deliveries were 23,880 doses of Sinovac and 50,310 doses of Pfizer.

Bataan remains under modified enhanced community quarantine until October 31, 2021.
