OFW, 4 others nabbed for drugs, gun, ammos in separate raids

    OLONGAPO CITY– An overseas Filipino worker and four others were arrested by PNP in separate drug operations in Zambales and this city the other day.

    Police identified the OFW as Rene Cacpal, 29, of Block 10, Guava St., Barangay Gordon Hieghts and Roy Custodio, 45, resident of Lacambra St., Barangay Barretto who were both nabbed having pot session inside the nipa hut owned by a certain Jimmy Carizal at Upper Gabaya St., Barangay Barretto. Recovered from their possession were one rolled aluminum foil containing shabu and drug paraphernalia.

    Also arrested was Ruben Toledo, 52, of No. 40 Corpuz St., Barangay West Tapinac by virtue of a search warrant issued by Judge Raymond Viray of RTC Branch 75.

    Police recovered inside the room of the suspect assorted drug paraphernalia, 10 transparent plastic sachet of shabu worth P45,000, a 9mm pistol loaded with three bullets. Toledo is now facing charges for violation of RA 9165 and violation of RA 10591 or the Comprehensive Firearms and Ammunition Act.

    In Subic, Zambales police headed by Chief Inspector Leonardo Madrid arrested Carlos Bonilla, 56, and his nephew Jaymar Bonilla, 25, both residents of Barangay Calapacuan after selling transparent plastic sachet of shabu to police poseur buyer worth P500 while at Subic Beach Resort.

    The suspects were locked up in jail facing charges for violation of Section 5 and 11, Article ll of RA 9165.
