HERMOSA, Bataan- Police arrested a school janitor who admitted hacking a stay-in nun and a teacher a few hours after the two victims were found dead at the Siena College of Hermosa in Bataan before 11 a.m. Friday.

Chief Insp. Palileo Addag, Hermosa police chief, said janitor Michelle Dabu, 39, upon questioning admitted to hacking to death Sister Ceferina Alvarez, 60 and Kinder A Teacher Ana Marie Ocampo, 29, of Prado Siongco, Lubao, Pampanga.

The police chief said a resident pointed to the suspect as leaving the school premises before the discovery of the victims. Police officers collared Dabu who by then had allegedly changed clothes and was among the many residents watching the dead bodies.

Police investigators and Scene of the Crime Operatives found the body of the teacher sprawled on the school ground near the main entrance of the school. The nun was bathed in blood inside the laundry room at the  second floor of the convent.

Dabu admitted using a bolo in killing the victims. He shook his head when asked why he did it murmuring “hindi ko alam.” He resides near the school in Barangay Balsik, Hermosa where he has been working for some years as janitor, caretaker and maintenance man.

“Sana mapatawad nila ako,” Dabu said in a low voice when asked what he wanted to tell the kin of his victims.

The police chief said the suspect apparently tried to molest Ocampo who was inside her classroom. The teacher, however, was able to free herself and ran towards the convent where Sister Alvarez was washing clothes inside the laundry room at the second floor.

The convent was more than 100 meters away from the school. Other nuns who arrived from Manila said Alvarez was long inflicted with breast cancer and can hardly walk due to her slip disc ailment. Dabu gave chase and saw the teacher seeking cover near the old nun. Suspect hacked Sister Alvarez and again chased the teacher who dashed outside the convent.

The janitor overtook the teacher near the main entrance of the school and hacked her. Attendants at the Tongol funeral parlor in Dinalupihan, Bataan said the victims have the same hack wounds.

“Iisa tama, sa batok at sa mukha,” they said. Police said that the two victims were the only ones in the school there being no classes on Friday with other nuns and teachers reportedly on a seminar/field trip.
