TARLAC CITY – The Northern Luzon Command (Nolcom) has assured residents of this capital city that safety measures will be continuously observed in view of the fire that hit Camp Servillano Aquino Tuesday night.

No cause for alarms, said Nolcom even as the fire was reported to have been preceded by an explosion. The fire started around 10:30 p.m. and lasted for an hour.

“Initial inquiry revealed that the fire started in an old enlisted personnel barracks of Army Support Command,” Nolcom commander Lt. Gen. Romeo Tanalgo said in a statement.

Tanalgo noted that no residential establishments within the vicinity were affected. He also said there were no reported casualties during the incident.

Meanwhile, Nolcom has coordinated with the Philippine National Police, Tarlac Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction Management Council and other authorities to form a multi-agency group to investigate the incident.
