CITY OF SAN FERNANDO — There has been no reported and recorded incidents of abuses or human rights violations by Central Luzon police personnel at checkpoints since the start of the community quarantine last March 17.
Police Regional Office 3 director Brig. Gen. Rhodel Sermonia said all frontline police personnel follow all laws and regulations and that any abuse is not tolerated and immediately reported to higher headquarters for proper action.
“We are implementing our one-strike policy in punishing our abusive personnel. All our personnel especially on the ground and those performing checkpoint operations are always reminded to uphold the law and respect human rights at all times. I am also encouraging the public to report any erring cops as we continue our efforts on internal cleansing and those who will be found guilty shall be punished and dismissed,” Sermonia added.
Resolution No.37 of the Inter-Agency Task Force for the Management of Emerging Infectious Diseases placed the provinces of Bataan, Bulacan, Nueva Ecija, Pampanga and Zambales and city of Angeles under a modified enhanced community quarantine while the provinces of Aurora and Tarlac and City of Olongapo under a general community quarantine from May 16 to 31.— Carlo Lorenzo J.
