No fanfare, all service for Kaganapan 2014

    CITY OF SAN FERNANDO – “Fernandino Ing Mumuna, Fernandino Ing Manimuna.” With that core value of the administration of Mayor Edwin Santiago serving as theme, Kaganapan 2014 – the celebration of the 13th cityhood anniversary — has dispensed with fanfare in favour of service- based activities running to February 23, staring off with the celebration of Pedro Abad Santos Day last Friday and the City Clean-U Day Saturday.

    On February 5 is slated the ground-breaking of the Organic Trading Post, a terminal for the organic produce from the city’s One Crop, One Barangay program. On February 6, the city will hold the Best Practices Sharing of Model MRF (Materials Recovery Facilities) to afford different sectors here with a better understanding of ecological waste management practices with special emphasis on effective ways of handling waste in the barangay level.

    The event will be held in Barangay Del Pilar. Also on the same day is a bloodletting activity at the Heroes Hall.

    On February 7 is a livelihood event; on February 8 a pet show; and on February 9 the city will launch its official website also at the Heroes Hall. Northville residents will benefi t from the city’s medical mission on February 12.

    On February 13 will open the city’s fi rst ever Agri-Fisheries and Organic Trade Fair at the Paskuhan Village followed by a Zumba event for fitness enthusiasts. The city will also be launching the grassroots Barangay- Based Fernandino Card.

    Kaganapan 2014 is chaired by Ceferino Pamintuan.
