ANGELES CITY – Pursuant to stringent measures being undertaken by the city government to control the spread of the coronavirus disease, the traditional twin fiesta celebration here has been suspended, along with the iconic Tigtigan, Terakan Keng Dalan and the Mutya ning Angeles pageant.

This, as mandated in Memorandum No. 1079 issued by Mayor Carmelo “Pogi” Lazatin, Jr.

While the city government respects the annual celebration of the feasts of La Naval and Apung Mamacalulu and with it the monthlong schedule of community events such as TTKD and Mutya Ning Angeles, Lazatin said it is the city government’s utmost priority to promote and maintain the safety, health, and welfare of Angeleños from Covid-19.

Lazatin also directed officials in the city’s 33 barangays to suspend all community holdings and celebration for the same event, in accordance with Resolution No. 9044, S-2020, passed by the Sangguniang Panlungsod of Angeles City on June 20, calling for the determent of all community events and gatherings, such as fiesta celebrations.

“Wala naman po tayong ibang gusto kung hindi matapos na ang pandemyang ito, kaya po magkaisa at magtulungan tayo sa pagsunod sa mga itinakda nating reglamyentos para sa kaligtasan nating lahat laban sa Covid-19,” he added.
