“Mystic” has prophecy for September 27

I have reserved some skepticism over an anonymous mystic from Pennsylvania although his/her credibility was once vouchsafed by a Catholic priest, Monsignor John Essef, a diocesan priest of Scranton in the US state. Alas, Essef was once a spiritual director of Mother Teresa of Calcutta.

I cite the mystic here because his/her credibility will cross a crucial road by the end of this month, as the mystic is said to have received a prophecy allegedly from the Blessed Mother saying that on the last day of Pope Francis’ visit to the US, which is this September 27, the US economy would collapse and this would prompt the pontiff to revise his departure speech to dwell on the issue.

The message was reportedly conveyed by the Blessed Mother to the mystic only last September 3.

Msgr. Essef had this to say about the mystic: “For many years, I have been director for a special soul. Five years ago, Jesus and Mary began to speak to this soul through the gift of locutions (as described by John of the Cross).

These locutions now total over 800. I have discerned the validity of these locutions. Until now, these locutions were personal teachings given for the small community that gathered in prayer. Beginning on December 10, 2010, a new phase began, namely, some locutions were to be told to the whole world….”

The alleged divine-sourced messages to the mystic are being chronicled in www.locutions. org where the name of Msgr. Essef used to appear until 2014. The priest was reported to have asked that his name and phone number be stricken off in the website, purchased by a follower from Ohio in 2011, as he was being overwhelmed with too many phone calls that kept him from doing his tasks well. This, however, was a mere report, not an issuance directly from him.

Anyway, the mystic claimed having received from the Blessed Mother the following prophecy, referring to an economic collapse:

“This collapse has been a long time in coming, preceded by many incidents that should have awakened the world. God is not the cause of the collapse and the collapse is not a divine chastisement. The collapse comes because of man’s free will and the choices he has made. The collapse has no purpose. It results from purposeless decisions made from self-interest.

“The collapse will not come before Pope Francis comes to America but it will happen while he is in America. I deliberately brought the Pope to America, the world’s financial center, to be here when it takes place. I want him to be part of the picture. I want him to be present. His presence in America will be my sign that the Church is very important in saving mankind from its own follies. Toward the end of his trip, he will have to shift his message and address the new world situation. In this way, I will begin to exalt the Church as a beacon of light in the darkness.”

What specific prophecy! People should pray it doesn’t come true. But if it doesn’t, the mystic is fated to be doomed as a false prophet prophesied to proliferate in the end times.

The prophecy, for whatever it is worth, now bears watching. Pope Francis leaves the US at 8 p.m. on September 27, a Sunday that ushers in the rare “blood moon.”
