ANGELES CITY – Scores of various multi-sectoral groups have joined the bandwagon behind the candidacy of Joseller “Yeng” Guiao, boosting his comeback bid as Congressman of First District of Pampanga.

This developed even as a recent poll survey showed that Guiao is ahead of Cong. Jonjon Lazatin for the congressional race.

Leading this group is the Association of United Christian Churches of Angeles and Mabalacat (AUCCAM) which recently issued a Manifesto of Support for the former Congressman. The organization also has members from Magalang town which forms part of the First District.

Part of the Manifesto states: “we (shall) endorse and campaign Cong Joseller Yeng Guiao’s candidacy to our members, friends, and acquaintances with prejudice and bias towards him.”

The manifesto was presented to Guiao by AUCCAM Chair Rev. Gilbert K. Miole, head pastor of the Christian Praise and Worship Church, one of the biggest churches in the First District. AUCCAM comprises of evangelical and born again churches. Several AUCCAM members also support the candidacy of re-electionist Mayor Garbo and his running mate Atty Geld Aquino in Mabalacat City.

A huge religious group in the First District has also endorsed the candidacy of Guiao for Congressman.

Other groups that have thrown their support to Guiao including the women and youth sector in the district.

We support the candidacy of Congressman Yeng because we believe he can work for the advancement of gender and development programs in the first district.

“Kami po sumusuporta sa kandidatura ni Congressman Yeng Guiao dahil naniniwala kami siya lang ang tanging makakapagsulong sa aming mga karapatan,” Maria Wilma Rodriguez, President of Mother’s Club in Magalang said.

Guiao also has projects lined-up for the youth, specifically the development of a sports program.
