SAN ANTONIO, Zambales — Seven persons including a minor were arrested by elements of the municipal police station in an anti–illegal gambling operation in Barangay Pundakit here.
Police identified the suspects as Junrie Aniceto, Jayrix Borja, Maryjane Rodrigo, Jesica Tubes, Joyce Parilla, Jenivive Bula, and a minor, all residents of Purok 2 and Purok 7 of the said barangay.
All the suspects were caught in the act of playing “tong-its.” Confiscated from them were assorted gambling paraphernalia and bet money.
The suspects are now facing charges for violation of PD 1602 as amended by RA 9287 (Illegal gambling).
