Mayor Lazatin gives cash, medical aid to seniors

ANGELES CITY – Mayor Carmelo ‘Pogi’ Lazatin Jr. will personally distribute cash gifts and medical assistance to indigent senior citizens from 33 barangays here who are 95 to 99 years old.

With the assistance of City Health Office (CHO), Gender and Development (GAD) Office, City Social Welfare and Development Office (CSWDO), Office for Senior Citizens Affairs (OSCA), and City Information Office (CIO) staff, the Mayor already started his house-to-house visit of indigent senior citizens in Barangays Amsic, Malabanias, Ninoy Aquino, Sta. Teresita, and Lourdes North West on January 14, 2020 to monitor their situation and hand over P2,000 cash gifts each.

The Mayor was accompanied by doctors during his house visit to seven seniors to check their condition and give free medicines for their well-being.

Moreover, the Mayor has scheduled visitations to 54 seniors from the City’s villages in the coming days.

According to him, the indigent senior citizens from 33 barangays here who are the beneficiaries of the medical and financial assistance of the City Government, have verified records from CSWDO and OSCA.

He then added he will go to every senior’s house to assure that they will receive assistance from the City Government.

It can be recalled the Mayor stressed that in his 2020 budget, a total of 10 million will be allocated to social pensions of elderly and Persons with Disabilities (PWDs), and P3 million for the solo parents.
