ANGELES CITY – Minutes after taking his oath of office, Mayor Carmelo “Jon” Lazatin II, with the entire 20th Sangguniang Panlungsod literally serving as backstop, signed his very first executive order as hizzoner.
EO 2025-001 suspends the implementation of city ordinances mandating the collection of the environmental/septage fees “pending review, reevaluation and eventual introduction of amendments to the ordinances.”
The EO further ordered the accredited service provider, named as Soliman Septic Tank Disposal, “to cease and desist from conducting desludging/siphoning activities…until further notice.”
It also enjoined all private water utilities and water districts to likewise “cease and desist from collecting the environmental fee/septage fee from citizens of Angeles City.”
Lazatin’s first EO generated immediate positive response from across all sectors in the city who have been one in decrying what they say are “exorbitant fees for non-existent services.” Punto News Team/Angeles CIO
