ANGELES CITY- Movie actor Mark Anthony Fernandez and kidnap-murder suspect SPO1 Ricky Sta. Isabel met and sat on the same bench at Branch 58 of the Regional Trial Court (RTC) here Wednesday afternoon, but their differing cases were deferred for different reasons.

The supposed arraignment on the Jee case was timed with the continuing hearing of illegal drugs case against movie actor Fernandez at 2 p.m.

Sta. Isabel and Fernandez sat on the same bench, separated only by their guards. Fernandez was wearing an orange T-shirt marked with PPJ or Pampanga Provincial Jail, while Sta. Isabel was in black T-shirt marked NBI.

The judge reset hearing on Fernandez’s case to April 26, noting that the government prosecutor had sought to be excused as he was to attend a “caucus discussion” in Baguio City. He noted, however, that the postponement was “vigorously objected to by the defense.”

Pangilinan noted that the prosecution in Fernandez’s case was supposed to present yesterday a fourth witness who also did not show up in court.

“Hopefully, it will be the last hearing,” Fernandez’s mother actress Alma Moreno was heard saying after the judge reset the hearing.
