CABANATUAN CITY – Presidential hopeful former Sen. Ferdinand Marcos, Jr. said the warm welcome extended to him by the people of Nueva Ecija during his first visit last year highlighted his campaign for the post.

In a meet-and-greet with local candidates led by gubernatorial bet Palayan City Mayor Rianne Cuevas and reelectionist 3rd District Rep. Ria Vergara on Friday, Marcos said his December 2021 visit in the province inspired him to come back for the grand rally.

“Maaaring masabi na ang kampanya namin ay nagsimula dito dahil Disyembre ay nagpunta na kami dito sa Nueva Ecija,” Marcos told local bets before proceeding to a grand rally in Barangay Sta. Arcadia this city.

In his message, Marcos again pitched on unity which, he said is vital in accomplishing any program or project.

“Ako’y nagpapasalamat na nandito muli tayong lahat, magkakasama, dahil kagaya ng aking nabanggit na ang kampanya namin dito sa Nueva Ecija,” he stressed.

This was the start of a long journey that is about to end in a few days, he said.

“Mahaba-haba na po ang nalakbay namin mula nung Disyembre. Mula nang panahon na ‘yun ay patuloy nating ipinaglalaban ang ating adhikain ng pagkakaisa,” he said.

Marcos won over closest rival Vice President Leni Robredo in Nueva Ecija in the 2016 vice presidential race.
