ANGELES CITY — Mayor Carmelo “Pogi” Lazatin, Jr. is appealing to the city’s private and public schools to excuse students who are scheduled for vaccination via the city’s Sundo Bakuna program.
This after Mayor Lazatin announced last October 28, 2021 that the city government will start the vaccination of the 12 to 17 age group from November 5 to 15, 2021.
Mayor Lazatin has released Memorandum No. 1487, Series of 2021, for the said appeal, attached with the schedule of vaccination per barangay.
The Sundo Bakuna sa Barangay program picks up Angeleños from barangays and takes them to the city’s two mega vaccination sites with free services being provided — six Philippine Rabbit buses and 10 jeepneys.
Lazatin’s Chief Adviser IC Calaguas, also the chief implementer of the city government’s vaccination program, said the guidelines and schedules, including the pick-up points per barangay, are now posted on the official Facebook page of the City Information Office.
According to Calaguas, this is to avoid the delays for the students to receive the vaccine.
“Target na po ng siyudad na mabakunahan na ang lahat ng residente ng Angeles City kaya po may directive si Mayor Lazatin na umpisahan na ang pagbabakuna sa mga minors sa 33 barangays,” she said.
