Delivering with Leading Climate Transparency and Growing NEV Fleet Adoption

On-demand delivery platform Lalamove has published its Sustainability Report 2024, proactively disclosing its climate-related information on certain aspects of the International Sustainability Standards Board (ISSB)’s IFRS S2 Climate-related Disclosures (IFRS S2) standards for the first time – a testimony to the company’s unwavering dedication to transparency and setting an example in the logistics sector. The latest sustainability report underscores Lalamove’s enduring endeavors towards building a sustainable future, detailing steady progress towards achieving its sustainability goals.

“We have always been focusing on fostering a more sustainable future wherever we operate. In this instance, we are proud to be at the forefront of voluntarily incorporating elements of the IFRS S2 Climate-related Disclosures into our Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) reporting. This step is not just about compliance—it’s about building resilience, fostering trust, and creating value for our customers, partners, and the communities we serve. We welcome the opportunity to drive progress in the transition towards new energy vehicles and reducing global emissions. As we move into a new New Energy Vehicle (NEV) era, we remain steadfast in our pledge to advancing a greener, safer, and more sustainable future for all,” said Bill Li, Director of Corporate Affairs at Lalamove.

Accelerating climate action with first voluntary disclosure

Committed to increasing transparency in its environmental reporting, Lalamove’s latest initiative to voluntarily conduct its first climate-related disclosure assessment, referencing specific requirements of IFRS S2, demonstrates a dedication to addressing climate change and the continuous improvement of operational practices. This enables Lalamove to set the standard for climate disclosures in the logistics industry, while providing stakeholders with a deeper understanding of its environmental strategies and risk management to foster a shared path towards a low-carbon future.

In 2024, Lalamove also proactively engaged with various stakeholders to contribute to collaborative solutions to combat climate change. Activities like participating in 2024 United Nations Climate Change Conference (COP29), the world’s largest climate conference, and exchanging insights with the Risk Governance Innovation Research Center at Beijing Normal University on social responses to climate change, enabled Lalamove to stay ahead of global trends and make a meaningful contribution to global climate targets.

Leading the NEV transition through steady adoption growth

Accelerating the move towards new energy vehicles (NEVs) has been a cornerstone of Lalamove’s sustainability strategy. Through active engagements with drivers and partners along its supply chain, it has fostered close collaboration that speeds up the transformation.

In Mainland China, Lalamove continued to deepen its collaboration with car manufacturers to offer over 40 types of vehicles for its driver partners, providing them with a wide variety of options to choose NEVs that best suit their needs. To support this transition, Lalamove also cooperated to provide more NEV charging stations and electric vehicle (EV) chargers in 2024.

These initiatives have now delivered a measurable impact. In Mainland China, Lalamove made substantial progress in NEV adoption, increasing NEV van order fulfillment from half of all orders in 2023 to around 60% in 2024. This shift has contributed to reducing our key Scope 3 emissions.

Reaffirming dedication to driver safety and community support

Beyond addressing climate change challenges, safety remains a core foundation of Lalamove’s operations, and Lalamove remains steadfast in upholding high standards for all of its driver partners. Leveraging advanced AI technologies and data analytics, it continuously reviews and enhances its safety protocols, adhering to industry best practices. To date, Lalamove has maintained a 99.9% injury-free operation rate across all markets for three consecutive years.

At Lalamove, partner drivers are essential to building a sustainable, people-centric logistics ecosystem. The company continues to support partner drivers by uplifting driver well-being through financial empowerment, recognition programs, and health promotion at every stage of their journey. By integrating tailored upskilling programs with comprehensive health safeguards and inclusive support systems, Lalamove aims to create an environment where every driver can thrive professionally and personally.

Lalamove believes that true success lies in harmonizing business growth with meaningful social impact. Looking ahead, Lalamove will continue to advance driver safety, strengthen community support, and foster a culture of care and empowerment.
