CITY OF SAN FERNANDO – “He is very athletic.

”Thus said Powerade-RP Men’s national basketball team coach Joseller “Yeng” Guiao on their new towering member who hails from Sasmuan, Pampanga. The vice governor spoke to Punto about 6’9” center Japeth Paul C. Aguilar after launching his gubernatorial bid in Pampanga Thursday.

“Pero kulang pa sa gulang ,” added Guiao, who is preparing the national team for the Southeast Asian Basketball Association men’s basketball championship.

“He plays straight basketball,” he added.

Guiao was clearly excited about adding Aguilar to his already packed line-up.

“He can play the four or the five position. His height, athleticism and defensive presence will really help. But he has to add some more bulk, a few more pounds that he will need when he goes up against the tall players of the other teams,” said Guiao.

Aguilar is the son of former professional basketball cager Peter Aguilar. He played for Ateneo University varsity team before leaving for the United States of America (USA) to play for the Western Kentucky University in the Division-1 of the US-NCAA.

Aguilar expressed his desire to join the coming draft of the Philippine Basketball Association (PBA).
