Aderans Philippines Inc. (API), a world-class manufacturer of wigs, disclosed the monthly export of its products at the culmination of the 3rd Joint Skills Training and Employment Program on Wig Making.
The skills training was held at the Japanese firm’s factory here on Thursday where some 300 trainees completed their six-week training program on wig making.
The training was organized by Clark Development Corp. (CDC) under its Specialized Training and Employment Program for Underprivileged Persons (STEP-UP) in cooperation with Starboard Manpower Services Inc. and API.
Norio Asakawa, API assistant manager, thanked the management of CDC led by its president and CEO Arthur P. Tugade for supporting the Joint Skills Training and Employment Program on wig making. It was learned that the 300 trainees were hired immediately after the program.
Asakawa said since the API was established here in 2003, the firm was able to export about 6,000 wigs monthly and are shipped mainly to Japan, parts of Europe and North America.
He added that most of their clienteles abroad are “happy” on their toupees.
CDC Communications Department manager Noel G. Tulabut, who delivered Tugade’s message, appealed to the newly hired trainees to value and excel in their work to maintain the quality of products being produced by API.
Tulabut also expressed Tugade’s gratitude to the Japanese investors, “for believing in the Filipino people, thank you for giving opportunities to those who have less in life.”
Meanwhile, API’s economic contributions include an actual employment of 1,470 workers who are mostly residents of Clark’s contiguous areas. It has actual investment of P433 million.
The company operates at the Clark Premiere Industrial Park here and its head office is based in Tokyo, Japan.
API is one of the recipients of “Clark Freeport Recognition 2010” for its valuable economic and social development contributions.
Also present during the culmination ceremony were Rommel C. Narciso, manager of CDC’s External Affairs Department; Manuel Gorobat, Jr., president and CEO of Starboard Manpower Services Inc.; and Jordan Ramos, Human Resources officer, also of Starboard.
