IBP Nueva Ecija, LGU Talugtug seal partnership for legal aid access

CABANATUAN CITY (PIA) — Residents of Talugtug, Nueva Ecija are set to gain stronger access to legal services following the signing of a Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) between the Integrated Bar of the Philippines (IBP) Nueva Ecija Chapter and the local government unit of Talugtug.

This partnership brings together the legal expertise of IBP Nueva Ecija and the public service mandate of LGU Talugtug to make legal assistance more accessible to Talugtugueños.

Municipality of Talugtug Mayor Pacifico Monta signed the agreement on behalf of the local government, witnessed by Municipal Social Welfare and Development Officer Francis Jean Ramos, Municipal Planning and Development Coordinator David John Morandarte and Planning Assistant James Bryan Alegado.

Integrated Bar of the Philippines Nueva Ecija Chapter President Maria Carmela Wenceslao Mendoza signed the agreement on behalf of the legal organization, with IBP Legal Aid Chairperson Jay Villafria and IBP Treasurer Sandra Mae Perez Lagunilla serving as witnesses.

The agreement supports efforts to expand legal aid services and strengthen community access to justice through closer institutional coordination.

The partnership also reinforces the municipality’s commitment to good governance, social justice, sustainable development and responsive public service delivery.

The MOA establishes a framework for legal aid initiatives, community-based assistance and coordinated efforts to address the legal needs of residents, particularly underserved sectors in the municipality.

Both institutions view the collaboration as a long-term effort to strengthen legal access, promote transparency and advance inclusive community development in Talugtug. (CLJD/MCAL, PIA Region 3-Nueva Ecija)
