OLONGAPO CITY – Two luxury vehicles were recovered by operatives of Highway Patrol Group 3-Zambales (HPG-3) in separate operations against carnapped vehicles in this city and Zambales, Thursday last week.

In his report to HPG-3 regional chief, Senior Supt. Fernando S. Villanueva, Chief Inspector Noel Nuñez said a Nissan X-Trail wagon (YGA-342) registered to Rica Bacuetes of Bagong Silang, Caloocan City was recovered in the possession of Leo Lonzanida of Barangay Rizal, San Antonio, Zambales.

Also a Toyota Fortuner (MUC 88), registered to Michelle Concepcion was recovered from one Mila Matias of No. 50 Acacia St., Barangay Gordon Heights, Olongapo City.

The recovery of said vehicles was made in separate operations conducted by HPG- Zambales led by SPO2 Urfendo “Bong” Abadilla, PO2 Gary Biag, PO2 Domingo Bulaong and PO2 Emerito Mañalac.

Per investigation conducted by SPO2 Marlon Agno, Lonzanida said that on March 27, 2009 the Nissan X-Trail wagon was bought from the registered owner in the amount of P500,000, but when he went to the Land Transportation Office in Olongapo City to renew and transfer the registration to his name the plate number (YGA-342) did not exist in the LTO Motor Vehicle Inquiry Data.

Verification made at the HPG Motor Vehicle Information Management System (VIMS) showed the Nissan X-Trail wagon was included in the hold order list of motor vehicles nationwide, and the attached plate number (YGA-342) was registered on August 3, 2009 in the name of Vivian Teo of B17 L11 Village Park, Langkaan 1, Dasmariñas, Cavite.

On the other hand, reports said the Toyota Fortuner recovered from  Matias was pawned by one Carl Concepcion, husband of the registered owner in the amount of P300,000 last April 2009.

Investigation added that the said vehicle had a case of Writ of Replevin before the RTC, Branch 117 of Pasay City under the sala of Judge Eugenio Dela Cruz.

“Yung Toyota Fortuner ay talon sa “financing” hindi na nagawang bayaran nung may-ari ng sasakyan kaya dinemanda sila ng bangko at yung Nissan X-Trail wagon naman ay sinabit lang ang plaka at naka alarma na sa buong HPG ang sasakyan”, said SPO2 Agno.

Both vehicles were brought to HPG-3 Office for documentation.
