ANGELES CITY – Police seized P5.4-million worth of shabu and arrested three suspected “notorious” drug peddlers in a buy-bust operation in Barangay Ninoy Aquino here Saturday evening.
Some 800 grams of shabu packed in 11 heat-sealed transparent plastic bags with an estimated Dangerous Drug Board value of P5,440,000 were confiscated fromthe suspects along with the P5,000 marked money, said city police chief Col. Rommel Batangan.
Batangan identified the suspects as Noraden Naser Ariray of Barangay Ninoy Aquino, whom he described as a “high-value target,” drug watch–listed Roberto Angeles Carbungco of Barangay Lourdes Northwest, and Anthony Quitalig Bonifacio of Bamban, Tarlac, who had been jailed previously due to illegal drugs.
Appropriate charges for violation of Sections 5 and 11 of Republic Act 9165 (Comprehensive Dangerous Drug Act of 2002) are now being prepared for filing in court against the suspects, who are now all locked up in jail, according to Batangan.
“Through our revitalized anti-drug campaign in line with the directives of our chief PNP Gen. Debold Sinas, along with the support of the community even during this pandemic, we continue to yield positive results,” Central Luzon police director Brig. Gen. Valeriano De Leon said in a statement on the successful police operations.
He asked the support of the public in their campaign against illegal drugs.
“As we keep on working double time to stop the proliferation of illegal drugs in the region, we also urge everyone to help us in our campaign against illegal drugs,” De Leon said. With media reports
